Lincoln County Board of Commissioners January 23, 2019 Meeting Minutes Non related dialog EDITED OUT
CONSTITUENT INPUT Chair Hall called for constituent input.
Robert Ruben, Waldport, voiced concern over the operation of Eckman Creek Quarry. The Board reached a consensus to move forward with sending a letter requesting application for a conditional use permit for continued operation of the quarry or the County will take code enforcement action. Additionally, the letter will request the quarry cease drilling and blasting until the permit is issued.

GREAT NEWS 10/9/2019
Eckman Creek Quarry Blasted today!
We received NO ADVANCE NOTICE!!!!
HOWEVER when I stopped in LCPD office today
The Director of Lincoln County Planning Dept. Onno Husing said,
Anyone who wants to be on a list to receive pre- blasting notices from either quarry on Eckman Creek Road, only needs to contact him to be put on a list.
We do get notice from Cedar Creek Quarry, because Cedar Creek has a L.C. Conditional Use permit. Eckman Creek Quarry does not have a permit, and the county presently refuses to enforce any regulations, since the quarry owners and operators have a lawyer.
We have contacted via e mail, the operators of ECQ , ARI of Springfield, with no response. We have been unable to get notices from Eckman during the last 4 years since we first contacted L.C. Planning Dept. Thanks ONNO!
Todays 10/9 E mail
Our staff shared with you, when you came to our office this afternoon, that I was not in.If you came to see me about the status of the quarry please know our Department is no longer involved in that matter. These are legal matters being handled by our County Counsel’s office.
Thank you.
Onno
